Event highlights

This year at ATD 2026 International Conference & EXPO, Nebius Academy joined L&D and transformation leaders to explore what happens after AI adoption: how organizations move from isolated prompting behaviors to real operational fluency across teams.

Throughout the session, we shared perspectives on AI adoption anti-patterns, the growing gap between perceived and actual AI readiness, and why sustainable AI transformation depends more on workflow integration and capability building than on tool access alone.

Who this event was for

  • Learning and development leaders building AI capability strategies
  • HR and transformation leaders navigating workforce AI readiness
  • Organizations moving from AI experimentation toward operational integration
  • Enterprise teams seeking measurable approaches to AI upskilling

Learning Stage Session: The AI Fluency Illusion

Key insights from the conversation

One of the central themes of the session was that AI adoption is often mistaken for AI readiness. The discussion explored how many organizations equate prompt writing and tool access with real capability, while lacking the deeper skills required to integrate AI meaningfully into workflows and decision-making.

Another recurring idea was that sustainable AI transformation depends less on experimentation and more on behavior change. The conversation highlighted why organizations must move beyond isolated workshops and instead build structured learning systems that develop measurable competency across teams and roles.

The session also emphasized that AI fluency is ultimately an organizational challenge, not just a technical one. As AI becomes embedded into daily work, leaders must rethink how teams evaluate outputs, collaborate with AI systems, and build the operational confidence required to scale adoption responsibly.

"“Prompting is not fluency. Real AI readiness begins when organizations redesign how teams think, work, and make decisions with AI."

Continuing the conversation

ATD 2026 International Conference & EXPO created an important space for honest conversations around workforce AI readiness, organizational transformation, and the future of AI fluency at work.

We appreciate everyone who joined the session, shared perspectives, and contributed to the discussion throughout the event.

At Nebius Academy, we continue helping organizations move beyond surface-level adoption by building practical AI capability, measurable learning systems, and long-term workforce readiness at scale.
